Reborn

And again the water falls,

That clear water.

And the islands, gathering as they fall,

Keep pouring it, and pouring.

So the islands never cease to drink,

So the stones will not turn in the depths and springs.

Fill the island with dreams, with only the purest ones,

So the water may wear the channel down to the springs and depths.

The rising sun brightens the sky,

And the diamond spray of the waterfall bears beauty far away.

A drop glimmers in a dark hollow,

Revealing a tree long dead.

And you fill the island with such drops,

And the water keeps falling, never stopping.

You know it is already here, and yet it feels farther away,

A small stone, and yet so heavy...

And if I were to lend you my island, my little islet,

Would you make sure the water never runs dry?

Water is no fluff; it can be heavy,

So do not be angry if the island cannot hold it all.

And when I find a place where dreams lie sleeping,

Wake me, so my hands may be filled.

And I will climb the mountain, the highest one,

So you may see how the sky shines for you.

A graduate of the Kaunas School of Art Institute, Šarūnas pursued a career as an independent artist while also working to serve the community. Through graphic techniques, he creates diverse combinations of symbols and colors, using a wide range of drawing and painting tools to bring his surrealist vision to life. Immersed in the creative process and guided by a free-flowing imagination, he produces distinctive graphic drawings and oil paintings.

What is Art for me?

For me, art is the hidden part of life that is always seeking expression. It brings a sense of uplift and nostalgia. Art takes a great deal of time and patience, and in that way it feels like meditation. During the creative process, I spend a lot of time thinking and reflecting, which often leads me to write scripts and poems inspired by my thoughts. Art is a way of life for me—an effort to appreciate life’s simple yet breathtaking moments: sunsets, fresh air, clear water, and the night sky. It gives meaning and purpose, allowing me to express my emotions and beliefs through a work of art.
